Maker City book
In 2017, I wrote a book with Peter Hirshberg and Dale Dougherty available on Amazon. To our shock and amazement it became a best seller in the category City & Regional planning. More exciting than this was learning that some city leaders were using the book as we intended - guiding their work as they revitalized their cities.
Maker City: A practical guide to reinventing our cities
Maker City is designed to help cities understand the Maker movement and the impact it is having on economic opportunity: ecosystem development, education, advanced manufacturing, workforce development, and real estate.
The book is based on interviews completed with 50 thought leaders and practitioners who work at the forefront of the Maker movement in around 20+ cities.

Our goal is to provide practical examples and guidance people can use to strengthen and build their own Maker City.
